My mother was Mildred Catherine Hodges and her decendents tree, include the names Skaggs, Hawkins, Highbaugh's and Brown's. Maggie T. Skaggs was Mildred's mother. If one looks at the Alfred Hawkins and Sally Highbaugh marriage you find the name of Brown on each side of the marriage. I don't know for certain but i would make a guess that these were cousins. This in interesting. I have several photos of the W.M. Brown clan. They are the oldest photos in my possession that were handed down to my mother. Again I must mention due to the remoteness, neighbors often became members of the family.
My dad Vernon Niblack Cox was from the Cox Family from Hopkins County, Kentucky. His family also came from the James River region of Virginia. His mother was Alma Irene Coy. She is related to the Pope's.
