These girls are coeds from Western Kentucky Teachers College, does anyone know them ?

Who am I?

I am the child of Mildred C. Hodges from Hart County, Ky. and Vernon N. Cox, from Hopkins County, Kentucky. How they met, well I believe it was in College at Western Kentucky University, which was Western Kentucky State Teachers College at that time. We are trying to follow and provide a history of our family. Initially I wrote this for myself but it has taken on a life of its own. It has been a project which never will end. This tree has grown and expanded at such a rate there will never be enought time to totally follow all the branches and provide details for all the people who deserve to be remembered and given that lasting satisfaction that they are not forgotten.

Do you have details that would help here? I would love to hear from you.

My Family Is ?

Cox & Hodges family's are united in early Kentucky history. Thru time and marriage these family's produce many children, which I am one of them.
Both families settle in the James River Region of Virginia when they arrive from England. It is amazing that both the Cox and Hodges families are in such close proximity to each other so early in the Colonial period. Places of note are Bremo, Malvern Hills, Turkey Island and Turkey Creek, and Curles. People of interest are Richard Cocke, John Pleasants, Margaret Wood (Wynne-Jones-Cocke), Peter Jones, and William Randolph, and Thomas Jordan.

Cox Family

William Coxe arrived aboard the Godspeed in 1610. Name's that appear researching, Henry Wood, Rebecca Wood, William Farrar, William Baugh, and John Bolling, and Valentine Wood. Places of interest are Henrico Co., Va., Harrowattocks. The family's now become connected in a tangible sense. William Cocke (son of Richard of Bremo) has a daughter Sarah Cocke who married a William Cox (the younger) son of John Cox Jr. Samuel Cox (1753-1820) is where we begin to see the move to Hopkins County, Kentucky.

Hodges Family

Mom's ancestor's start with Thomas Hodges (abt1676-abt1749). There is a good deal of information on Thomas and his son Edmund. Names mentioned are John Slayden, Joseph Scott, John Bomar, William Bomar, Abraham Shelton, Governer Richard Bennett and Henry Wood. Places of interest are St. James Northam Parish, Goochland Co., Va. Halifax Co., Va. and Lickinghole Creek. From Edmund Hodges son's we see their children being listed in the Hart County, Kentucky region. There appears to be six of the children that settle there after 1821 and are buried in Hart Co., Ky
